Volland Basic
Updates once per day after regular trading hours
This level is suitable for the intermediate or long-term trader who is using Volland to supplement their fundamental or long-term theses.
Volland 3
Updates at approximately 11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. Eastern time
This level is great if you aren't a serious day trader. You might dabble a little in day trading, but mostly to get effective entries and exits on days when you are looking to execute your swing trades.
Additionally, Volland 3 helps if you are short gamma in a swing trade. For instance, you get an alert that a short strike is breached (or something like that) and you want to prevent getting shaken out.
Volland 30
Updates every 30 minutes during regular trading hours
This level is great if you are a day trader looking for a bullish or bearish bias and to see how dealers would react to market moves. You would be able to gauge if the day will be a trend day, mean reverting, boring, etc., and in some regimes you would be able to develop targets.
Many day traders marry Volland and technical analysis, so you can see how Volland says dealers would react if they hit a trendline, or a fib, or another measure.
Volland Live
Updates every 5 minutes during regular trading hours
This level is ideal for the tick trader.
You want to see what might happen in the last 15 minutes? Volland can help there.
You want to see what will happen after FOMC, you need more expirations than 0DTE, but you will get that update right after the announcement.
It is for the trader staring at their screen with their finger on the trigger waiting for signals.
